Jonathan Jarrell, 42

Location: Atlanta

Occupation: Attorney

Experiencing primarily: loss of scent/taste

For how long: 4 months

Morning: I didn't have much of a breakfast other than coffee with oat milk. I got a sense of the depth of coffee, but not the flavour. I got a handheld milk frother for Christmas, and I've been using that to enhance the airiness in the oat milk, and then I can go a sense of creaminess as opposed to directly black coffee.

AFTERNOON: For lunch, I had a homemade sandwich: turkey, roast beefiness, and gouda on rye. I had more mustard than usual on there, so I got some of that horseradish tang. With the gouda, I was hoping to exist able to get some of the smokiness. Unfortunately, I guess it was also subtle, and so that ended up being more of a "merely eat it to get the nutrients." I haven't noticed a suppressed ambition, and so unfortunately that has non been a silver lining of this, but I'grand being mindful to keep upward with the nutrient intake.

MORNING: I had my espresso with foamed milk, fifty-fifty though java is icky to me now. I exercise not enjoy the taste. But I accept a cup of java about every morning. Experiencing primarily: distorted smell/gustation

For how long: 10 months

MORNING: I made breakfast for me and my husband: toast with sharp cheddar and spinach. I made an egg for him and no egg for me. Eggs are really bad for me correct now, which is a bummer because I love eggs. The odor is actually hard. But cheese has been delicious the whole time; it's one of the just things that tastes the way it always has. I used to try to eat pretty found-based, but I've completely given up on that with COVID. I'one thousand worried about getting enough vitamins with all the unlike vegetables and fruits tasting bad, merely I eat spinach with basically every meal I tin can because information technology still tastes delicious to me.

I also had coffee with a splash of almond milk.

MORNING: At eight:15 a.1000. I drank a Gatorade Bolt24, tropical mango flavor. I never liked mangoes (also sweet), only I couldn't taste anything in this canteen. I needed the electrolytes; I was trying to get my energy back after lying in bed for two weeks.

For breakfast, effectually 10:40 a.m., I had lemon-basil linguine with parmesan, forth with a glass of water ice water. I thought that the combination of basil and lemon would catch me and I would taste something, but I couldn't gustation them. MORNING: My morning started with half an apple tree, sliced. It tasted a little funny at showtime, kind of like there had been some chemical cleaner on the pocketknife when I cutting it. The apple was sweet — I never really lost the sugariness or salty sense of taste buds — only I didn't get much more than than cobweb and sugar. Biting into sure apples, they don't gustation as good every bit they used to.

I besides had a Kirkland nut bar with cocoa drizzle and bounding main salt.
